Project 21 is a student-run organization of composition students at the Bass School of Music. The organization serves as a support group for its composers and allows its members freedom of creativity and exploration. Project 21 hosts around four free concerts each semester dedicated to new works by its members.
Every Friday at noon, Project 21 meets in a weekly composers forum. This forum serves as a discussion group where members present and discuss their new works and ideas. Prominent composers, alumni, and performers are also invited to share their wealth of knowledge in a comfortable and stimulating discussion setting. Our past guests have included David Maslanka, John Bucchino, David Gillingham, John Corigliano, Ron Nelson, Simon Sargon, Laura Schwendinger, Ovid Young, Jack Stamp, David Friedman, Sujin Nam, Stephen Paulus, Thomas Pasatieri, and Frank Ticheli, Daniel Asia, Michael Daugherty, and Chance Thomas.
