Spencer James Smith was born and raised in Oklahoma. He grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma and attend Edmond Memorial High School. He is now on his fourth year at Oklahoma City University studying primarily with Dr. Edward Knight for musical composition and studies with Professor Claudia Carroll for classical piano. Also interested in conducting and music direction, Spencer studies with Dr. Matt Mailman and Maestro Joel Levine of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. During his time at OCU Spencer has studied with John Arnold, Dr. Kate Pritchett, Chad Burrow, and Dr. Corey Gavito.
Influenced by people he knows and events he has experienced, Spencer is best described as a romantic artist with modern influences. Spencer is unsure of where his composition degree will take him, but is optimistic and ambitious about his future. Major Completed Works
