Leah Sproul

Leah Sproul was born in Dallas, but grew up right outside of San Juan, Puerto Rico. When her family moved back to the states, she began taking piano lessons. In high school she picked up guitar, bass, singing and songwriting. She is majoring in music composition with an emphasis in piano. She is currently studying composition with Dr. Edward Knight, piano with Professor Claydia Carroll, and Horn with Professor Kate Pritchett. Previously she has studied piano with Professor Jeannie Clewell, Jazz Piano with Dr. Cory Gavito, percussion with Dr. David Steffens, Clarinet with Professor Chad Burrow, and Viola with Professor Donna Cain. She is currently president of Alpha Zeta Chapter of the women's music fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota and sings with the OCU Jazz combo, along with other jazz groups in the OKC area. She can also be seen performing her own songs around the metro, and is presently putting together her first album of eclectically styled pop tunes. She hopes to finish her BM in composition this May and pursue graduate studies in composition in the Fall of '08.
