Matt is a guitarist and composer from the Oklahoma City area. He is currently the director of the Classen SAS Classical Guitar Program. Classen has recently been named the #14 school in the nation according to newsweek. In the past two years Classen Guitars has earned top rankings at prestigious national contests including first place at the University of Texas at Brownsville Guitar Festival and Competition. Since leaving OCU Matt has had the honor of studying with some of the great classical guitarist of our time including Christopher Parkening, Pepe Romero, and Connie Sheu and has recently received his Masters in Education from the University of Central Oklahoma. In addition to his teaching responsibilities at Classen Matthew is also the director of the guitar program at Southern Nazarene University which will soon be participating in international Alhambra Guitar Competition in Dallas TX. Matt's newest creation is entitled Picture on a Train in which the composer has tried to weave four characters: A train and three people who pass a work of art. All three people view the same piece of art but they are affected in different ways. Below is the premiere performance of the work recorded in September of 2009. Major Completed Works
