Project 21 Composers
Davis Good
Hometown: Broken Arrow, OK
Date of birth: 1/24/1991
Davis is a young composer whose music has been described as emotive, diverse, colorful, and imaginative. He strives to make musical discoveries and to tell stories through vibrant "aural imagery".
Davis began writing simple piano compositions as a young teenager. Dreaming to be an actor/director/playwright, he pursued the stage and sketched story and song ideas for his own musicals. Not until his senior year of high school did he realize music composition as his true passion. Extending his focus from the theatre to the concert hall whetted his appetite for composing in and listening to various styles of music. While Davis has been influenced by a plethora of composers and songwriters, he names Eric Whitacre, Stephen Sondheim, Igor Stravinsky, Olivier Messiaen, and Nobuo Uematsu as his most profound inspirations. Today, Davis still hopes to compose for the stage, be it through musicals or ballets, but with greater ambition to be truly innovative and impacting. Aside from this goal, he hopes to conduct and compose in a wide variety of venues. Major Completed Works
