Yury was born in Cheboksary, Russia. At the age of seven Yury began playing accordion in Elementary Music School. In 1982 he entered into a musical college and studied composition, polyphony, and harmony with A. G. Vasilyev. His teacher was a student of a professor of the Russian Academy of Music (Gnesin) G. I. Litinsky. From 1986-1990 Yury studied composition at the Kazan Conservatory. From 1995-2000 he studied at Chuvash State University Faculty of Arts. Yury began his MM studies at OCU in Spring 2005.
